Two ‘top’ European clubs are trying to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, according to his agent.
The 28-year-old endured a difficult debut season in west London after joining the Blues in a £57million deal from Napoli in 2018.
But Jorginho, who is Chelsea’s vice-captain, has found his feet under Frank Lampard, starting 32 matches in all competitions so far this term.
The Italy international has been linked with a summer move to Juventus, a club bossed by Maurizio Sarri, the main who coached him at Napoli and Chelsea.
Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, told Radio Musica Television: “If you ask me if Sarri likes Jorginho, I’d say ‘yes’ due to their history.
“I can’t say anything about the transfer market as I’m not in touch with anyone right now.
“Jorginho still has three years left on his contract and is doing well at Chelsea, but if a big enough offer comes in then a deal could go through.
“In this sense, two top European clubs, not Italian ones, contacted me.”
Earlier this month, Jorginho revealed he almost quit Chelsea after being booed by his own fans during a Europa League win over Malmo last season.
He said: “Last year, fans were picking on me a lot because I’d arrived with another manager and, in my opinion, I ended up hearing some things that were honestly unfair.
“I’ve gone through moments like this at every club I’ve played for – this low moment when doubt can come and make you wonder, ‘should I just leave this place? Maybe there isn’t room for me here’.
“But I embrace this kind of challenge, and I’ve never backed down. It gives me more strength to work even harder, to prove to everyone that I can make it.”
