“And I’m considering ‘oh for goodness sake I’ve missed it’. In spite of everything these years questioning and considering what the emotion was going to be like once I lifted the trophy and I missed it.
“I made a vow that if I ever acquired again and was in cup finals once more I’d be certain that I wouldn’t miss it.
“All the opposite cup finals I used to be concerned in it was all the time the captain, the goalie after which me.”
Fortunately for Hughes, although, he was victorious an additional 3 times in FA Cup finals throughout his profession.
