“It was my mistake and I don’t blame anybody else, it was one thing I selected [to do], however, with a purpose to attempt to sleep, as a result of I needed to sleep since I used to be awake for 24 hours, I had wine, an excessive amount of wine, a bottle [of wine] to attempt to black out.

“I had a glass and didn’t work. Two glasses, it didn’t work. Half bottle, didn’t work. I had all of it.”

Former double UFC champion Daniel Cormier wasn’t impressed with Costa’s feedback, which got here months after the loss.

“It’s a joke, it’s an absolute joke,” Cormier informed ESPN. “He’s out of his thoughts. This dude, Paulo Costa, is gonna kill me when he sees me. He legitimately says among the dumbest stuff I’ve ever heard in my total life.

“I don’t know who’s advising this younger man. That is the stuff you say after, ‘Oh man I bought drunk,’ since you didn’t have time to consider an excuse. It took you six months to provide you with ‘you bought drunk, you drank an excessive amount of wine’ … who informed him to place that on the market?”
